I've added steel plates to this vest and it holds them. The only downside it's hard to get my big head through the opening and taking it off. Otherwise very nice.

I play airsoft and it's hard to find a decent tactical vest that fits larger guys. I'm 6' tall and weigh about 200 lbs and it fits perfectly and I still have some room. You can extend it quite far and still cover your mid-body and upper chest. Great product. I absolutely recommend 110%
